Having the students use calculators to show the waves is really good.   They learned more about their graphing calculators and are able to repeat the process with out having to worry about setting up equipment or having wave tables.   This they  really liked - math without much thinking.

Opps!  This is really activity 4.   Since I am trying to do this right now without the book (electronic version - uncut and fixed), I left out activity 3 for my students since we did one much too similar in chapter 5.   Activity four does get them back into standing waves and nodes but not just the shape of the wave.   My seniors are getting tired of school so I am trying to keep them learning with new material they haven't used as yet.  Sorry, calculators are in activity 4.
