I really liked the idea of finding a wave because of the size of the opening (eye) or antenna but my students had no idea how to find the size of an antenna, radar gun, etc unless I gave it to them.  Most did not carry this over to the opening of the eye and the wavelength of light.
Using the formula for velocity, wavelength and frequency here was good but I had already added it into the discussion of light at the beginning of chapter 5.

With out a good discussion of Hertz, my kids had a problem with PTG 3.   They could do the math but could not really relate anything to the frequency and an object.   They really did not get the bacteria part but the atom made some sense since it was so small.
