When we did this lab, students had a tendency to walk too slowly.  Be sure to remind the students to begin pulling the tape quickly before turning on the ticker.

You may wish to mark off spaces on the floor and have students practice walking a specific pace  or  you may use a mass attached to the tape and drop it toward the floor.

Is it a good idea to delete the start and end arts of the ticker tape?

Thank you Sandy..
This worked much better with the students walking on marked steps.  I wasted alot of tape the year before with students not starting fast and slowing down etc.  Thank  you
