The What Do You Think question is meant to “Elicit” prior understandings and “Engage” students. What successes did you have in facilitating this?

I think this is a wonderful way to start an activity. Most students will want to share their experiences with the rest of the class. A great warmup exercise.

The students may be a little over zealous with their answers.  How do you keep them on task in order to continue with the lesson?
